The Captain's Quarters
The Ground Floor Flat of Admiralty House
What a delight when we removed the carpeting in The Captain’s Quarters, revealing gorgeous hardwood floors in a log cabin or herring bone pattern.
We think you will feel like the captain of a fine ship in this lovely ground floor suite, especially when you sit in the fabulous glassed-in porch facing the water (below, left). This glorious room provides wonderful vistas of the harbour, and is a perfect vantage point for watching boats, birds, the sunset or just absorbing the beauty of the water. Since this is a private room, with a very comfortable double futon bed, the captain may choose to bunk down here.
Alternately, the spacious master bedroom with a queen sized bed or a very comfortable double pull-out in the living room could be the sleeping quarters of choice.
A large eat-in kitchen (below) and a gracious dining room gives lots of scope for enjoying that lobster or other bounty of the sea.
Other spots for quiet relaxation are the living room or the old-fashioned verandah with sliding glass panels, adjustable according to the sea breeze, or the Jacuzzi-style air whirlpool bathtub in the four-piece bathroom.
